Abstrak

Water is one of the basic human needs. It is for the needs of everyday life. The availability of clean water that meets the requirements for human needs is often becoming a problem. The main problem faced is related to water resources. The quality of water for domestic needs is decreasing from year to year. Citrosono spring water has been used by people in that area, such as for household needs and as a water source for Magelang Regency PDAM. The level of water quality needed for each particular activity has a different standard of quality, therefore a test was conducted to determine the suitability of quality with its designation. The quality of the water from Citrosono spring was tested by laboratory analysis tests. Parameters analyzed were pH, temperature, TDS, DO, TSS, turbidity, nitrate, nitrite and iron. The results of the analysis are compared with the reference for water quality standards based on the applicable regulations, that is the Standard of Water Quality: PP No. 82 2001 and the regulation from Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010. The results of measurements during 6 months, parameters that exceed the quality standard are DO and Nitrite. High level of concentration of nitrite in several months of measurement is most likely due to the presence of pollutants from settlements, livestock and agriculture that use fertilizers. In order to maintain the quality of ground water, the socialization of a program of septic tank making, and a household-scale farming management need to be done.
