Peer Review Process

After submission, the manuscript will undergo a preliminary review by the editor of Mimbar: Jurnal Penelitian Sosial dan Politik. The editor will assess whether the manuscript aligns with the journal’s scope and focus and whether it is suitable for review. In some cases, the editor may recommend revisions before sending it for formal peer review. This initial review process typically takes one week.

Submissions that pass the initial review will be sent to at least two reviewers for a double-blind peer review. Based on the reviewers' feedback, the editor will make the first editorial decision.

There are five possible editorial decisions:

1. The manuscript is accepted.

2. The manuscript requires amendments.

3. The manuscript is to be resubmitted.

4. The manuscript is sent to another publisher.

5. The manuscript is rejected.

The typical time frame for receiving the first editorial decision is 5-8 weeks.

The time required to reach a final decision depends on factors such as the number of review rounds and the responsiveness of the author. On average, the final decision is made within 3-4 months.
