Journal History

Mimbar: Journal of Social and Political Research has undergone several developments in its publication policy to improve the quality and consistency of its scholarly output.

From 2012 to 2017, the journal was published four times a year. In response to efforts to enhance editorial quality and strengthen peer review processes, the publication frequency was adjusted in 2018 to twice a year (June and December), which remains the current publication schedule.

In addition to changes in publication frequency, the journal has also updated its article layout and formatting standards. Since 2019, Mimbar has adopted a revised article template to improve readability, consistency, and compliance with international publishing standards.

Starting in 2026, the journal will accept manuscripts written exclusively in English. This policy is part of the journal’s ongoing efforts to increase international visibility, improve indexing potential, and broaden its academic reach. Authors are required to follow the most recent author guidelines and article template available through the journal submission system.
