Publication Etic Statments

Mimbar: Jurnal Penelitian Sosial dan Politik is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the COPE Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics.

Duties of Authors

1.      Reporting Standards

Authors must present an accurate and objective account of their research. Data should be represented honestly without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation. Manuscripts must contain sufficient detail and references to allow replication of the study.

2.      Data Access and Retention

Authors may be requested to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to make such data publicly available when appropriate. Authors are expected to retain data for a reasonable period after publication.

3.      Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works. Any use of others’ work or words must be properly cited. The journal screens all submissions using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% will be returned for revision or rejected.

4.      Multiple or Redundant Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously or publish the same research in multiple outlets without proper justification.

5.      Acknowledgement of Sources

Proper acknowledgment of all sources must be given. Authors should cite relevant publications that have influenced the research.

6.      Authorship

Authorship is limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and consent to submission.

7.      Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research outcomes or interpretation.

8.      Fundamental Errors in Published Works

If a significant error is identified after publication, authors must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions.

9.      Research Involving Humans or Animals

Research involving humans or animals must comply with ethical standards and include appropriate ethical approval where applicable.

 

Duties of Editors

1.      Fair Play

Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit, without discrimination based on gender, nationality, religion, or political views.

2.      Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must maintain confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.

3.      Conflicts of Interest

Editors must not use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for personal research without author consent.

4.      Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are published based on peer review reports, scientific quality, and relevance to the journal scope.

5.      Peer Review Process

Editors ensure a fair, double-blind peer review process and select qualified reviewers while avoiding conflicts of interest.

Duties of Reviewers

1.      Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer reviewers assist editors in making publication decisions and help authors improve manuscript quality.

2.      Promptness

Reviewers should accept assignments only when they have sufficient expertise and time to complete the review.

3.      Objectivity

Reviews must be objective, constructive, and free from personal criticism.

4.      Confidentiality

Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents.

5.      Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers must not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

6.      Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant works not cited by authors and alert editors to substantial similarity with other publications.
